Due to the risk of corrosion progressing and causing gas leaks, white gas piping for burial ceased to be used in the late 1970s. Currently, the main types of gas pipes used for burial are corrosion-resistant polyethylene pipes and coated steel pipes, where the surface of the steel pipe is covered with plastic. Over time, it is recommended to replace buried white gas pipes.
