TECHNOLOGYNew Technology VS Old Technology
A fitting that connects pipes to pipes. As pipe materials change with time, fittings also change accordingly. We have developed fittings that meet the demands of each era. Let's take a quick look at the footsteps of Higashio Mech, which have been walking alongside fittings.
・In 1970, resin-lined steel pipe fittings for water supply piping, known as "Epoxy resin powder-coated fittings".
The origin of Higashio Mech is in the field of malleable (wrought iron) fittings for castings. In the 1960s, the issue of "red water," caused by rust on the inner surface of steel pipes, became a social problem, and the industry faced a turning point. At that time, Higashio Mech thought, "Can we sell pipes and fittings as a set?" and managed to establish business partnerships with pipe manufacturers to expand their sales channels.
・In 1990, resin composite fittings for pipe end anti-corrosion fittings.
In order to prevent corrosion, composite steel pipe fittings with vinyl chloride applied internally became the mainstream. Since then, they have acquired a leading share in that industry.
・In 1995, the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake
However, the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake of 1995 brought about challenges. The rigid and strong steel pipe piping revealed its vulnerability in terms of seismic resistance. With the addition of regulatory relaxation, a shift occurred from steel pipes (with malleable fittings) to various fittings, such as plastic pipes.
The era of pipe type transformation arrived, shifting the trend from "product standard goods" based on public standards such as JIS regulations to "performance standard goods" based on manufacturer-original designs. This shift also demanded manufacturer-specific performance in fittings.
Not only the product development team but also the collaborative company, Inoue Sudare Co., Ltd., embarked on new challenges in product development. The major product born from this effort is the world's first mechanical fitting with a snap-lock mechanism, designed for plastic pipes.
The "Snap Fitting" for plastic pipes features a one-touch installation where the pipe is simply inserted, and the sound confirms the completion of the installation. On the other hand, the refrigerant piping fitting "O'zzone Boy" addresses fluorocarbon gas issues by implementing a safe and flameless construction method instead of traditional flame-based techniques. Additionally, the "KK Best" fitting for new expansion pipe methods in water supply, hot water supply, and cold/hot water stainless pipes achieves ultra-rapid installation, ensuring high-quality piping work regardless of the installer.

As a specialist manufacturer of pipe fittings that connect various types of pipes, including steel pipes, plastic pipes, stainless steel pipes, copper pipes, aluminum pipes, and more, we propose products that are well-received not only domestically but also in emerging countries and overseas. We will continue our challenges with a forward-looking vision, keeping an eye on the next generation of solutions.
